Our Mission

Friends of the Farmers Market is a voluntary group of citizens who provide support to the Blacksburg Farmers Market and local community through development, educational programs about benefits of locally grown food and sustainable agriculture, as well as special events that enhance its role as a community gathering place within the region.

Friends of the Farmers Market Board of Directors

Friends of the Farmers Market (FFM) is a voluntary group of citizens who provide support to the Blacksburg Farmers Market and local community. This support includes development, educational programs about benefits of locally grown food and sustainable agriculture, as well as special events that enhance its role as a community gathering place within the region.

The Board has acted as the liaison with the Town for the operation of the Market, most recently spearheading the design, funding, and building of the new market structure, and securing non-profit status to enable community citizens to make tax-deductible contributions in support of the market.

The Board is responsible for the hiring and supervising of the Market Director and works collaboratively with the Market Director for market operations. If you are interested in finding out more about opportunities to serve on the Board, contact us at bbfarmersmarket@gmail.com.

Friends of the Farmers Market Committees
