Our Mission

Friends of the Farmers Market is a voluntary group of citizens who provide support to the Blacksburg Farmers Market and local community through development, educational programs about benefits of locally grown food and sustainable agriculture, as well as special events that enhance its role as a community gathering place within the region.

Volunteers

Volunteers provide essential support to all of our special events and initiatives at the Market. Whether you sign up for a one-time opportunity or choose to take on a regular volunteer role, we guarantee you will enjoy being a part of making good things happen!

Here are a few examples of ways that you can be involved:

  • Children's activities
  • Server at food events
  • Collecting donated produce at Share the Spare booth
  • Assisting with the SNAP/EBT program

Donations

The Friends of the Farmers Market is a 501 c 3 non-profit organization that supports the Blacksburg Farmers Market. Donations support educational and outreach programs that aim to increase community understanding about the benefits of local foods and improve access to the Market for all.
