Community and Camaraderie: Riverstone Organic Farm

Riverstone Organic Farm is an operation that runs like a Swiss watch—obviously, that’s easy to say if you’re coming from an outside perspective. What we mean is that Tiffany and Alex are the kind of scrappy problem-solvers that a farm needs to operate and grow. That dedication, education, and spirit shine through in all aspects of Riverstone Organic Farm.

Based in Floyd, Riverstone’s operation is located in a breathtaking valley, bordered by a gravel road, woodlands, and the Little River. As you arrive, you’ll find a well-stocked farmstand, hiking trails, and a farming operation that just feels productive.

Tiffany and Alex cultivate 17 acres with 12 high tunnels, totaling 1 acre of covered growing space. That allows them to grow a large diversity of high-quality, organic vegetables year-round.

Thanks to automation and electrification in the high tunnels, they’re able to produce at a scale and consistency that allows Riverstone to deliver to markets, CSA farmshare customers, restaurants, and co-op stores across the New River Valley and Roanoke.

When you find Riverstone at the Blacksburg Farmers Market, you’ll be treated to a wide array of fresh, seasonal veggies that are sure to please. They value comradery, collaboration, and community when it comes to farming.
