Good Food to Good People: Williamson Farms

Tom Williamson is a farmer, through and through. He’s been farming his whole life, though it’s important to note that we’re not calling him old! A young, smiling face on his cattle operation, Tom is an expert of his trade.

Walking through the pasture with Tom, it becomes clear that he simply looks at grass differently—in a way that only someone who has made it his life’s mission to be a good steward of the land can do. Plucking at seeds and pointing out different spots in the field, he knew exactly the route the herb would take as the day went on.

Williamson Farms is located in Botetourt County and serves a broad market throughout the Roanoke and New River valleys. The goal? “Bring good food to great people.”

When Tom wasn’t at regional markets, people started knocking on the door at the farm so they opened a farm stand on Trinity road in Troutville. In the spirit of “good food to great people”, Tom stocks pork from Weathertop Farm and veggies from Riverstone Organic Farm, among other local produce.

An amazing steward of his land, livestock, and our market, we’re so grateful to have Williamson Farms here with us. Stop by his booth and check out all he has to offer. Like all of our producers, Tom is an absolute wealth of knowledge. He simply wants to get good food to the plates of good people and once you try his products once, you’ll understand why!
